Uther in Apple ///?

Postby David Schmidt » Sun Mar 30, 2008 9:49 am

Has anyone tried an Uther card in an Apple ///? I'm looking at porting ADTPro to SOS, and I have a feeling the Uther will be just as happy in a ///. But I haven't heard of it being used there yet. Anyone?

Good question!

I can't think of a reason why it shouldn't ... i will have to get mine out of mothballs and see if i can get it working and give it a go

Sounds like a plan. Be careful of the filter capacitor in the power supply - there's been talk of them exploding lately after years of un-use. No big deal to replace, tho.

I've got mine installed, and with ADTPro ported to SOS, I can get the green light to blink. But I don't see anything coming across the wire according to WireShark. I need to find one of those ancient ping test programs we used...

Sorry for the delayed response - did you still need the IP65 test programs?

Quite all right! Yes, please send along the test programs - I don't seem to have them any more. And, I'm going to try throttling the /// back to 1MHz and see if it behaves any different/better.

Uther works fine in /// - ADTPro support done

Postby David Schmidt » Wed Sep 17, 2008 3:04 am

Confirmed - the Uther works fine in the ///. The next release of ADTPro will include a binary for it. The trick was to slow down to 1MHz when accessing the card.
