Use PC as file server?

Postby aiiadict » Fri Feb 09, 2007 5:35 pm

someone already programmed a fileserver for one of the other Ethernet cards... the SCnet card

some software to run on the PC, some on the apple II.

The ethernet cardwould appear to be a disk drive to Prodos,
and you could load/save files to it (the disk drive file is stored
on the PC)

Are there any plans for this with Uther? The source code is
available for download..

Hi Rich,
I have talked to Sanjaya before.

The Apple II side of the driver lives in ROM on that card ... this is what lets it boot off the remote disk image on the PC.

It was a nice peice of work bySanjaya

It could probably be adapted to work with Uthernet - I have always wanted to make an enhanced carrier card that had some EEPROM on it ...

Did anyone download the software for the SCNet card? Sanjaya's site (and Sanjaya, apparently) have since disappeared.
